Registered NGO in Goa MGO-BK4-00039-2014.The INSPIRE TRUST is a registered, non- profit Organization operating in Goa in the fields of Education, Environment, Community Development and Sustainability, as well as Revival of Arts, Crafts, Music, Theatre & Films. The main intend is to inspire and encourage the members of the community to create a sustainable, open and environment- friendly society with equal rights and opportunities for everybody.
The INSPIRE TRUST, an initiative by the INSPIRE PROJECT, is a NGO registered in Goa under MGO-BK4-00039-2014 since April 2014.But the work started already in 2009 within the pilot project of the INSPIRE PROJECT, called ART ESCAPE GOA, which is a knowledge sharing out of home experience through learn-by-doing workshops (painting, pottery, theatre, photography, dance, films, yoga, recycling & waste management) for everybody. Artists and professionals who have a passion for the creative arts and those that live to inspire drive this initiative.ART ESCAPE has been working in the areas of community developments, schools, colleges, NGOs events & workshops management, and hospitality & design environments. We have been promoting art, culture, music & films events in Goa since the past 6 years which has lead to an alternative art & cultural hub in Goa. However, art escape is a small part of the big picture called the INSPIRE PROJECT. The Inspire Commune is an environment created to facilitate, motivate, nurture and inspire those who would like to experience, exchange, share & learn all forms of art & design. To realize this big picture, we have come together as a collective called INSPIRE TRUST. We invite anyone and everyone who is interested to participate and/or join hands with us as comrades to take this initiative to the next level. INSPIRE TRUST works with the best of artists, painters, sculptors, installation artists, musicians, instructors and facilitators for various creative workshops and activities.Various workshops related to education, environment, recycling, revival of arts, crafts, music, theatre and film were conducted.
We believe that to start change and innovation one has to first think in a critical way to identify the issues in our society to then focus upon and address them. It is important to act after addressing them to solve the problems, but also to inspire others to think and act. We further believe in the idea of the collective as the strongest tool to transform our society towards sustainability, openness and equality. People need to start collaborating on their ideas, skills and actions, so change and innovation can begin.
The INSPIRE TRUST intends to identify micro and macro level issues that can be affected by change towards a better society with equal rights and opportunities for everybody. Through the empowering of the community members we want to encourage them to find own ways to deal with these issues to make it into sustainable models for the future.
AREAS OF WORK
The micro and macro level issues which need to be identified are reaching e.g. from individual shortfalls in personal development, health care deficits, oppression, discrimination, access to education, over environmental issues such as pollution or insufficient water supply to other problems faced by the entire community.
To overcome these issues, we are targeting all members of the community to share and collaborate within ones personal opportunities, skills and interests.
The INSPIRE TRUST wants to increase the people’s critical view on issues which are affecting our society and us. We want to create awareness on various social, moral and economic issues affecting the communities and to direct this awareness in developing innovative ways of generating recourses.
It starts from raising awareness towards health, nutrition and hygiene, but also towards heritage, culture, traditional arts, crafts and folk forms.
We want to raise environmental awareness amongst the community, so people understand the impact everyone has on our environment and to encourage them to become an active member of its protection. Through different workshops we want to show them the importance of conservation, saving Energy and other vital resources such as water.
Further topics of workshops are garbage (reduce, reuse, recycle), composting, nature, wildlife and pollution.
Through creative workshops, programs and camps, based on self-experience, we want to introduce children as well as adults to different art forms. Through learn-by-doing exercises we aim to support each ones individual development regarding creativity, expression of emotions, personal empowerment as well as social and personal skills.
Professionals and people who are willing to inspire others in their progress are conducting workshops to share their knowledge and facilitate the participants to develop new skills.
We believe that experience is the most effective way to learn, understand and change, therefore we have chosen to:
- facilitate • research • discuss
- empower • encourage • develop
- provide • share • connect
- educate • motivate • inspire
- organize • learn-by-doing • meet
